Philosophy

Every mark
matters.

Ink is unforgiving. Each stroke, each wash reveals intention. There's no hiding in the medium—only clarity, or its absence.

These works explore the threshold between presence and stillness, form and dissolution. Animal subjects become vehicles for examining psychological states through pure tonal structure.

Technique

Layered washes build slowly—each pass adding depth without overwhelming the surface. Light and shadow emerge through restraint and precision. The paper breathes between layers.

Materials

  • Indian ink on cold-pressed watercolor paper or cotton paper
  • Synthetic hair brushes for wash control
  • Gradual tonal accumulation over multiple sessions

Approach

Patient observation precedes execution. Forms distill to their essence. What's left out matters as much as what remains.

"A concentrated moment
held in space."
